Why Making Space for Creativity Matters

“Creativity is the way I share my soul with the world”
Brene’ Brown

I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend.
I spent my Sunday afternoon wandering around an old English Industrial Mill that has been the home to over 100 artists for two decades.
Each studio an ode to Creativity. Each space a window into that artist’s soul and unique mind.
The Mill is closing down. It has been sold, the artists are getting evicted and the haven of self-expression will be turned into luxury flats.
Their final exhibition was a testament to letting go, to closure, remembrance – and foremost – to Creativity itself.
My day at Rogue Arts Studios made me reflect on just how important it is for us all to have a space to truly express ourselves, make our own, deck out the way we want to – surround ourselves with things that inspire, cheer us up and motivate.

It made me make a commitment to myself to make more of an effort in my own “studio”- my Wish Tree office space.
Creativity is an essential part of cultivating our Authentic Leadership and self-expression, and vital to the design of a successful, purpose- driven business.
Creativity is the driving force behind innovation: creativity helps us look at things from different angles, perspectives – free from rules & restrictions. Without that, our work would simply stagnate.
Giving Creativity some space is key to thriving, in business- and in life!
So, my questions today are of course:
Are YOU make space for Creativity in your life? What does it look like? How much of your week is spent creating? Spent in your creative space?

Have a think. And then pencil some time into your diary.
Wishing you wonderful week,
With Love
